Welcome to the fire, the space between the black fire and white fire that is the words of Torah, the words of scripture on their pages.
Between the black and white fires are flames that can be felt and not seen, at least not with the eyes I have.
Perhaps you can see their colors and textures.
Here in this space between the fires, between the words, between the letters there is plenty good room; room to get down and dirty, room to tussle with the text, wrestle with the word, grapple with God. It may be bruising, but I pray it will also be a blessing.
